Ez's Honda MB5
I found my MB5 in 2004 hanging in a neighbors garage by chains. Wanted it out of his way back in 1991, and thus the hanging...

Pulled up my shirt-sleeves and went to work. I got the MB 5 running, re-built the carburetor, and fixed the leaking gas-tank. Nice 50cc Bike! Then in 2006 - I decided to tear er' down and do a complete rebuild.
As I wanted the Cafe' Racer look to the bike, I changed the bars to a straighter bar.
I used a part of a front fender in the rear to fill the gap.
Found a motor shroud that fit pretty darn close.
Repainted tank and used a small windshield that I had.
I had everything running smoothly and liked the look but wasn't satisfied. Not quite the Cafe' Racer look I was after... Then the tank started to leak. The rust had finally poked through along the bottom edges... OK Let's try this again.
I ordered new decals and decided to strip the tank and stop the leak. I tried a gas tank sealer along the edges, fiber glassed, then used Kreem inside as directed. Feeling that this should do the job, I repainted and with new decals, clearcoated the tank. Found a front fairing with windscreen and another tail light assembly to modify.
Tail light modification to fit the Cafe' Racer look.
This Honda MB 5 has been a whole lot of fun. I'm retired and have spent many hours both riding and building on my MB 5. Great relaxation. I'm heavy at 235# and with the stock motor can peg 60 MPH anytime. I know there are lots of hop up kits and bigger carburetors etc. But I'm keeping the motor stock for now... Who knows? Maybe 2009 will see me at the Bonneville time trials trying to set a new 50cc speed record? -EZ
