SYM Fiddle Clone From Lance Scooters
June 13th, 2009 - It looks as if Lance Scooters have struck a deal with the Chinese devil to start producing their very own copy of SYM's Fiddle I & II scooters. It has been widely speculated that the Fiddle scooters were already mostly or entirely manufactured in China, and this clone from Lance pretty much confirms that speculation as fact. Finally, a proven design will be coming out of a Chinese factory and will be on sale for $600 (24%) less than its Taiwanese competition. In case you're curious, the specs of the Vienna 125 look almost exactly the same as the US-spec Fiddle II. Interestingly enough this scooter looks to be so similar to the SYM that in some of the promo photos you can even see SYM logos (look at the headlight photo and the red scooter side shot) on the scooter.
The Vienna 125 and 50 (Lance's model name for the Fiddle clones) will have an MSRP of $1999 and $1499 respectively, which puts the Vienna's significantly under the current pricing of SYM's Fiddle. Another interesting feature of the bike is that unlike the Fiddle, the Vienna is CARB approved for California and street legal in the state. The model is expected to arrive in the USA at the beginning of August 2009. Stay tuned for updates and a test ride of the new Vienna 125 scooter from Lance.
